Local Organizations Collection Drives

Ardmore, PA —In this season of giving, it is important to remember those less fortunate both near & far. The Ardmore Business Association, Ardmore Initiative & First Friday Main Line are sponsoring several collection drives to help those in need.

We will be collecting non-perishable food for Lower Merion's own Eldernet Food Cupboard. Please bring your items to Schauffele Plaza on Dec. 4 or drop off during business hours at the Ardmore Initiative office or in Lower Merion Township Building lobby.
Take part in the Township's toy collection in partnership with the Ardmore Avenue Community Center New, unwrapped toys for ages from toddlers to teenagers (ages 3-12) are sought,
First Friday Main Line has launched "Operation Angel Wings" to bring smiles to the voiceless victims in Afghanistan. Lt. Col. Marx, a local resident, serving in Afghanistan, tells us that one of the stresses of combat tours is to see so many poor and needy and to have nothing to offer them. Requested items include winter clothing, especially for children: sweaters, fleeces, scarves, gloves, socks, long sleeved athletic clothing as well as towels, small stuffed animals and small toys for boys and girls. In addition, reading glasses are extremely useful for older Afghanis. These are items which U.S. Soldiers can carry in their vehicles while out on patrol. Used items must be clean, in good repair and gift giving condition. Small lightweight items are easy to ship and easy to carry long distances. Please bring your donations to:
